Little Leaf Farms
We all enjoyed a wonderful talk by Chris Sellew, son of the founder of Little Leaf Farms, Paul Sellew, about the history of his father’s search to create a company that could produce fresh, market-ready lettuces year-round without the use of pesticides or preservatives.
The method of growing baby lettuces hydroponically is not only fascinating, but also highly sustainable in terms of the resources used to produce them.
Our meeting was enhanced by the creativity of our hostesses who made a delicious variety of sandwiches, salads and desserts ingeniously incorporating the topic of the day: lettuces!
Thanks to: Lauren Huyett and Joanne Roser, Head Hostesses; Hosts/Hostesses: John Althouse, Beth Thut, Rachel Kramer, Sarah Garland-Hoch, Ericka Rodriguez, Maryrose Sykes, and Amy Noordzij.
A special thank you to Kate Chartener for her wonderful lettuce bowl arrangement!
