Halfway Through July?

I hope you are busy in your garden and enjoying some leisurely travels, even if it’s just a drive out to the Berkshires or a picnic at the deCordova. Can we really be halfway through the summer already? Blooming daylilies and imminent hydrangeas tell me that we are, but the rain has set my seasonal clock back a month or so. I hope you’re busy in your garden, too. With the calendar clicking along, it comes as no surprise that it’s come time to remind the membership to send in your dues if you haven’t already.

Busy in the garden?

I may post a few times before the official September newsletter, but in the meantime I do want to take a moment to also say “Hi there!” and “Happy and honored to be here as the new Club President”. I trust you are – like me – in some version of summer mode, and I’m feeling pretty casual myself in my shorts and mucky gardening crocs. I hope you don’t mind if I leave a more formal introduction and acknowledgements for later.

Don’t go just yet: The Club website is being updated with the coming year’s information, and the Sign Up Genius was sent out last Monday and is filling up vigorously. With that said, Concord Ag Day  is happening September 11th, and the Club could use some members for our information table. Please fill in a slot if you can help. I also want to point out that Sandra Conrad installed a new slideshow at the bottom of the left column on the member’s resources page. Be sure to check that out. It’s a lovely record of pre-covid gatherings, and a celebration of the fellowship we’ve managed to eek out of this socially distant year. Thank you, Sandra!

If you have any questions, you can always reach me at juliafarwellclay@gmail.com. I may not know all the answers yet, but I am learning quickly who I can ask.

Be well, and let’s all wish for a less rainy rest of the summer.
