Dispatch: MFA’s Art in Bloom
This past weekend was Art in Bloom at the Museum of Fine Art, and the club’s assignment was a classic American painting full of moody vibes. Serena Crosina and Sarah Beguelin put together a superb and elegant arrangement.
Ellen Whitney reported on Thursday: Serena and Sarah B did such a fabulous job!! Not the easiest painting to interpret in flowers with its muted colors and multiple rectangles — far from organic! But their arrangement so beautifully captured the feeling of the painting and on its own was so graceful, and carefully considered and constructed. For instance, just notice what a perfect reflection of the pavement — not just in its shape and dimensions but also in its shadows and color — the vase is. And oh, those fritillaria! It [was] worth a trip to the MFA — and the rest of the show [was] full of standouts too!
