Bulb Gardening and Irises: Inspiration for Fall Planting
Thanks to those of you who viewed last Wednesday’s Zoom presentation on bulb gardening with Kathi Gariepy, a Lifetime Master Gardener.
Kathi has sent along her list of favorite merchants as well as a descriptive list of her favorite bulbs.
Please feel free to contact Kathi directly if you have any questions: mailto:kgariepy@comcast.net
Here are her lists of favorites:
Grapesicle, Anyone?
No, not a popsicle, but a lovely mid-to-late season standard dwarf bearded iris. It has masses of beautiful royal blue flag-like flowers bearing towards deep purple. It is most effective planted in groupings and is excellent for cutting.
Once again, my generous neighbor, Brooke Cash, has an abundance of these that she is willing to share with us.
Have a look here at a photo and information on this lovely cultivar:http://www.trailsendiris.com/irises/iris_profile/grapesicle.htm
Please contact Brooke directly if you are interested at mailto:bwcash@gmail.com
Have fun selecting and planting bulbs for next spring’s garden!
