Mount Auburn’s Asa Gray Garden
February 16, 2022 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Please join us for a virtual presentation on Wednesday, February 16th at 1:15 p.m. by Steph Almasi, a lecturer at Mount Auburn Cemetery.
Just inside the entrance, adjacent to Story Chapel, is Asa Gray Garden. Named for the local botanist, Asa Gray who is interred at the cemetery, this garden is a living tribute to his life’s work. Recently renovated in 2018, it features over 175 species of trees, shrubs, herbaceous perennials and grasses that showcase an array of native and Asian species. The garden transforms throughout the seasons, teaching all about the importance of biodiversity while presenting an array of plants, native and non-native and supporting Asa Gray’s studies.
