At our next meeting, Wednesday February 18 at 1:00, each presenter have selected a topic to introduce; Lili Morss will begin by talking about the BIG IDEA…overall considerations for thinking about your landscape. Charity Trembley will talk about Gardening Throughout the Year….what happens when. Marty Wallace will round the meeting out by sharing How Gardening Supports the Natural World. Please be ready with questions for our member speakers as they will have time in their presentations to respond.
It is never too early to talk about our plant sale!
Jenny Sage writes: Plants, what plants?!
We know everything is covered in over a foot of snow at the moment but we wanted to share some updates on our biggest fundraiser of the year!
This year’s Plant Sale will be on Saturday, May 9th from 8:30 to 12:30pm. A Sign Up Genius will be distributed in March with opportunities to help with everything from plant drop off, pricing, set up, Mother’s Day arrangements, being an “Ask the Expert,” being a cashier, and more! We need everyone’s help the day of the sale as well as all of your generous donations of 15 plants each.
This year, our committee is creating a few dozen laminated signs with a color photo of the plant and essential growing information (see attached document). These will be placed in each grouping of plant(s). This does not remove the request for labels, but feel free to use it as a guide when creating your own. Also, while you’re dreaming of warmer weather, scan your phone for pictures you’ve previously taken of your own plants that you could use in your own labels. At our April meeting, members of our committee will present and demonstrate a few examples of ways to label your plants.
