Trip to Tower Hill

Almost lost in the flurry of Spring Garden Club projects is our tour of the Tower Hill Botanical Garden in Worcester on May 22. Our tour will highlight New England native plants and will begin at 10 a.m. and take an hour to an hour and a half. Afterwards we can visit theMuseum Gift Shop where as organization members we get a 10 per cent discount and have lunch in their Twigs Café.

Twig’s Cafe offers a gorgeous view from its terrace out over the Wachusett reservoir which makes you feel like you are miles out in the country. The menu changes every Friday so you can check what is available by going to their website —

Admission for club members is $9, $7 seniors. Car pooling is best, and we can meet at Ellen Matheson’s house at 53 Hubbard Street at 9 a.m. Joanne Vieria, the Horticulture Director is a wonderful tour leader, and Tower Hill is a fabulous place to visit, especially at this time of year.I need to know right away if you plan to go so please either email me at

or call 978-369-3496.

  1. Ellen says:

Groupon had a coupon for 2 or for 4 people last week to Tower Hill, but they may be all gone. In any case, admission is pretty low!
